PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is joining the cast of Chicago on Broadway for an eight-week run beginning this January.

The hit musical, which recently celebrated its 21st anniversary on the Great White Way, will welcome Grammy award-winning Burruss, 41, as she makes her Broadway debut from Jan. 15 to March 11 at the Ambassador Theater. The Xscape singer will play Matron “Mama” Morton.

The Ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta are notorious for their scandalous TV moments, but some of them rise above that 15 minutes of Drama to really secure the bag. That’s why this weeks announcement about Kandi Burruss making her Broadway debut in Chicago makes perfect sense.

Kandi has always used her platform on the show to go big. She introduced Bedroom Kandi, Rasing Ace, and even gave a shot at her own theatre project with A Mother’s Love.

Yes many of us know Kandi Burruss because of her iconic boss moves on the Real Housewives but she is no stranger to the musical spotlight. She has been in the music business since her her teenage years as one of the members of the legendary girl-group Xscape who recently made a comeback after more than a decade of being broken apart. Technically Kandi confirmed her involvement with the Broadway scene weeks ago when Xscape announced they’d be releasing new music without her.

If you’re looking to see the boss on Broadway people has confirmed that Kandi Burruss will have a eight week run at the hit musical, Chicago, making her debut Jan. 15 to March 11 at the Ambassador Theater.

There the grammy winner will take on the role of the iconic Matron “Mama” Morton.
